Discovery Duels is a weekly song competition where four randomly chosen players duel it out to victory! two new duelists are chosen to compete in the Fresh Blood bracket, while last week's Fresh Blood winner goes head-to-head with the reigning mystery duelist in the Shootout bracket! Every winning week counts as a point added to our leaderboard, and the person with the most points gets the @Best Music Taste role! And one more thing… players are completely anonymous until they lose.
1️⃣ Get the @Discovery Duels role from role-request. Once you have the role, all you need to do is vote in the current round to be added to the game.
2️⃣ Wait to be selected. Every round, two players are randomly selected from the list of voters to square off against each other in Fresh Blood, while last FB winner duels the reigning champion.
3️⃣ I got selected, what now? When you are chosen, I will DM you with instructions. You will be DMed with an extra day to decide on a song. Every round has a unique theme, and submissions must fit the theme as well as other requirements listed below:
⭐ Submissions must have under 75 million individual streams on both Spotify and Youtube. If you need help verifying a song, just ask me.
⭐ Songs that have already been submitted in previous rounds or in song raters may not be submitted. Additionally, no songs by Electric Light Orchestra or affiliated groups, as well as songs by The Beatles or Beatles solo acts are allowed for submission.
⭐ You may not submit two songs by the same artist in the same streak. Once you lose and are reselected, you may submit from an artist you submitted in a previous streak. Once again, it is recommended that players submit songs that not many people may have heard before in order to ensure the best voting experience.
⭐ Songs must be submitted in the form of a YouTube link. It is preferred that the link comes from a topic channel, and no music videos are allowed unless the theme requires it.
Duelists may vote for their own songs. Every week, a new form will be pinned in the channel, and participants have until Saturday (before the new round is sent out) to vote.
Listen to both songs entirely before voting; if you don’t have time to do so, find a different time to vote so that you can listen to both songs in their entirety. If you don’t vote for three or more consecutive rounds, your name will be removed from the participant pool until you vote again. Every round will have an optional Ivan’s Influence to rate from 1 to 10. Participants do not need to listen to the Influence, but it’s encouraged that you do. Whoever receives the most votes is the winner of the round and will gain a point to the leaderboard. They will then be sent a new submission request and submit a new song to compete in the next round.
